More understudy
This is where I tell you about the sacrifice I am making for another.
So all of last weekend was spent trying to find an acceptable (to the
bride) non-red bridesmaid dress. We were not successful. In
the end, I tried on the red (RED!) bridesmaid dress that had already
been purchased. As it is a blue-toned red and I have blue/purple
toned skin, it was deemed suitable. I have not actually seen
myself in a mirror while wearing the dress, so who knows.
Anywho, the dress was a bit long. Also, it is a strapless dress
that does not stay up terribly well on me. But that is why the
bride has skin/fabric tape. The bride and her mom pinned up the
dress for hemming. I offered to take the dress home and hem it
myself, but was told that they would be hemming the mom's dress anyway,
so not to.
At the rehearsal today, the bride made mention to someone of hemming
the dress tonight. Here is where we reach the sacrificing point.
I am now the proud owner of 4 inch heels. Well, 3.5 inch heels,
with an over-all 1/2 inch lift. I can even walk in the somewhat
decently. And since the dress is full-length, no one will know if
I don't straighten out my legs fully. And now the bride won't
have to stay up and hem the dress the night before her wedding.
I have never had shoes this high. Me, with my very own pair of
'f-me pumps'. Although they aren't actually pumps. Very
cute little strappy things.
