Gold!

Magnus has spent the past several weeks pulling off his pull-up, climbing onto the big potty (he refuses the insert seat), flushing the toilet while he is sitting there and climbing back off to start playing in the sink.  Nothing has come out of him into the potty.  He wants to play with the soap at the sink for hours with the water running full blast so he can reach it.  This is not something I have been encouraging, because it is damn annoying.

If I don't turn the water on for him, he climbs onto the toilet lid and leans over to turn it on for himself.  He has fallen several times with this.

He has trouble pumping down the soap.  But I can't do it for him.  He must do it himself.  Which tends to end up with him shooting the soap into his face and usually his mouth.  We have gotten lucky so far that it isn't a straight shot to the eyes.  Hand soap isn't tear-free.

Soap ends up coated everywhere.  Magnus slips and falls and screams.

About two nights ago, the bathroom door was left unlocked by mistake.  The next thing I now, I hear water splashing.  Magnus and Douglas had pulled all the remaining toilet paper off the roll (thankfully, there wasn't much left), put it in the toilet and were trying to get it all back out.  They were both in the toilet elbow deep.

Just had to take a break.  Magnus just ran up to me with no diaper and a brown behind.  I swear, it is so tempting to put him in onesies so he can't get the diapers off.

Anywho, although I try to clean the toilet fairly regularly, it is still a toilet and I am completely creeped out by them touching it.  So, I don't encourage this behavior for all of the above reasons.

Yesterday, Magnus was trying to get Ben to open the bathroom door for him.  Ben asked him if he needed to go tinkle.  Magnus nodded enthusiastically.  Ben took him in and sat him on the potty.  Nothing happened except for Magnus flushing the toilet.  Magnus hopped off and went to wash his hands.  Ben gave him a demo and Magnus was facinated.  He climbed back up on the potty and peed.  He did it again last night and again this morning.

The whole thing is pretty cool.  But also a headache.  There is the whole business of him running aruond without diapers and playing in the potty water.  Although the water thing is more of a Doug thing than a Magnus thing, he will join in.

I am viewing this as a several month long process.  Becca, although she took long enough to get to the process, covered it in about two days and there have been no accidents.
