Stitches!
I am back from Stitches Midwest! Fun, fun, fun.

Saturday morning Angie and her mom came to pick me up at 4:35 am.
Yes, they were 5 minutes late. Well, that just ruined the whole
trip right there. hahaha! I am SO funny!
(Can you tell I am still giddy?)
Angie did all the driving on this trip. She is a master
driver. And woohoo! can she ever toss change in a toll thingy!

Luckily, you can't see where I laid her arm open with my ring. She was pissing me off dude.
Stitches opened at 10. We were there not too long after. We
went straight for The Fold to get the Socks That Rock. I have
heard great things about the yarn base, but all the pictures off socks
that people post show extreme pooling. Being a chicken who is not
at all fond of pooling and won't knit socks which are doing so, I went
with a semi-solid. Lover's Leap in mediumweight. You will
get a better color from their website than my picture. When we
went back in the afternoon I went ahead and got Fire on the Mountain in
lightweight, because that is one of the colors I stare at most when I
drool at the website.
Then we headed off for some Koigu. I HEART KOIGU. It is so
soft. The colors are absolutely amazing. I don't see
pooling in people's pictures. I went nuts.
Between the two days, I am now the proud owner of 10 skeins of
Koigu. Enough for three pairs of socks and two pairs of endpaper
mitts. Although, I might buy some brown Louet and use the Koigu
brown in socks. Yeah, I think I will.

Koigu doesn't come with names, just numbers. I have named them
myself. Princess, Poison and Blackberry Dreams.
Tess's Designer Yarns. All I was going for was the sock
yarn. I got two skeins the first day. I was admiring them
the most of what I had purchased so far Saturday evening, so I got
three more today. Semi-solids. I just got in Knitting on
the Road and was wanting lots of semi-solids for cabled socks. I
think I have achieved that goal.

I have two skeins of Shelridge Farms sock yarn. One pair of socks there. It was a brand I was wanting to try.
I have SeaSilk! Periwinkle. If I won the lottery or someone
just felt the need to give me large quantities of money, I think I
would go straight online and order 2 or 3 skeins in every color.
And that is on something that I haven't started using yet.

I have a skein of Mountain Colors Bearfoot. There is some shawl
or scarf pattern that I have admired that calls for it. I son't
know what pattern and I will have to hunt it down at some point, but
now I have it. Angie's mom got the same color.

I picked up a skein of Cherry Tree Hill Supersock in Jewels today at a
booth that had reduced their prices for the last market day. It's
pretty.
I picked up two patterns. One I have been wanting and didn't want
to pay shipping on just a pattern. Peacock Feathers Shawl.
The other was knit up in a display model that was gorgeous at Black
Water Abbey yarns. I got the pattern, not the yarn. The
sweaters were all stiff and harsh feeling. The yarn felt
rough. Yes, that is the traditional yarn and the colors were
luscious, but I will not be hunting or fishing in my sweater so I think
softer merino will work for me.
All in all, I am very happy. The company was great. I think
we should make this an annual thing. Don't go asking me if you
can join us.
We all ended up with enough yarn to make 12 pairs of socks. Really, what could be better?
I should really write more about the fun of the trip, but this is getting a little long already.
