Initial update for today.  The ultrasound tech at the hospital tells me that the baby measures 11 lbs 14 oz.  I point out that just yesterday, on the same type of ultrasound machine, she was 9 5.  She measures again and decides to stick with 9 lbs 12 oz.  Now I’m waiting to hear from my doctor’s office. Rebecca’s birthday is scheduled.  Maybe I will tell, maybe I...

Okay, I am a bitch.  If someone thinks that I am a pompous bitch, it is probably because they are intimidated by my charm and wit.  I can accept that. Unfortunately Leesa and OWK, who really doesn’t know, I DO plan to charge candy and sweets to view the baby. Following is the start of what I deem acceptable: Orange juice, not from concentrate Grape juice Pecan pie Key Lime pie ...

Based upon the ultrasound at the doctor’s office today, Rebecca is 9 lbs 5 ozs.  Still zero progress with my cervix or her dropping.  Tomorrow I get to have a Fetal Pelvic Index.  That means an ultrasound over at the hospital in the perinatal unit and a ct scan of my pelvis.  They will then put the measurements together to see if her head will fit through my pelvis.  The doctor thinks that...

Day 2 of housewifeyness was productive.  Day 3 was not.  I don’t understand how people can choose to not work when there isn’t a baby or something needing care.  Boring. Fisher-Price has this cool baby swing that runs, as all swings do, for a set period of time.  The idea being that the baby falls asleep, which most of them do.  Then, if the baby wakes and starts to fuss, the swings...

This was my first official day as a housewife.  I don’t think it should be counted against me, as it is difficult to be very productive when nine months pregnant.  I did wash the sheets and get some vacuuming done.  I also made dinner and did the dishes.  We had chicken enchiladas.  Ben has told me that he will always say that whatever I make is good the first time I make it.  Unfortunately,...

Latest update.  Nothing.  Still zero effacement, zero dilation, and baby still hasn’t dropped.  The dr. says the baby not engaging in the pelvis at this point is unusual.  We have an appt on our due date for an ultrasound to see if the baby is too large to enter my pelvis.  Can you say c-section?

I am 9 months pregnant.  I can’t brush my teeth without having to lay down and rest afterwards.  I can’t burp without having my stomach try to empty itself.  I have such pressure on my hip bones that it feels as if I’m grinding them away just by walking.  This is without bringing into consideration the hormones rushing through my system.  These things are not condusive to a sense...

Labor and Delivery Rules
Rules for after Rebecca’s arrival, in no particular order: Always call before coming by. You will not be fed at my house. Do not get the idea that your finger is a pacifier and stick it in my child’s mouth. Do not tell me how to raise my child.  Ben and I are prepared to go with the trial and error method. Do not assume that because he is off work for a week that Ben can do...

Evil baby.  She hasn’t dropped at all.  My cervix has done absolutely nothing.  The Dr. doesn’t think she will be appearing within the next two weeks.  She is a stubborn cuss.

Since some of my loyal fans have requested it. I have to say, it’s amazing how exhausted you get at the end. We are up to 43 inches now, by the way.

You know, I have a nice long rant to post that would actually be interesting to read.  This could be a two pager even.  Unfortunately, my computer is down and the laptop won’t work as I have no lap.  Laying on my back with the laptop propped up is terribly uncomfy as well.  It looks like SOL.
