Again, something I did not write.  Yet another reason not to vote me off the island. “Breastmilk & it’s Many Uses” by Samuelina Wan (from “Keeping Abreast” Apr-Jun 1999 issue) ...

I did not, of course, write this myself. The “Cost” of Kids The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with $160,140 for a middle income family. Talk about sticker shock! That doesn’t even touch college tuition. But $160,140 isn’t so bad if you break it down. It translates into $8,896.66 a year, $741.38 a month, or $171.08 a...

I just realized my daughter has a natural mullet.  I had been thinking of her hair as male pattern baldness, but it really works out to be the same thing, doesn’t it?  Back on her neck it is about 1 inch long and hangs.  As can be seen from the pictures on her site, that is not the case up around her face. It will be good when Rebecca learns about her hands and that she controls them.  When...

Okay.  This having a baby thing would be much easier with formula.  Here I was, foolishly thinking that messing with bottles all the time would be a big nuisance.  I thought breastfeeding would be much simpler and better for her besides.  Dumb move.  Try having a kid hanging off your boob 24/7.  Great diet plan, but very tiring.

Prepare to hate me Leesa.  I went for my first post-partum visit today to have my incision checked.  Today is 11 days since Rebecca was born.  I am now 4 lbs below what I was at my first OB visit at 9 weeks. hehehe  Try calling me fatty now.

Keep in mind that baby poo is a different consistency than adult poo.  Ben was changing Miss Poopy-pants diaper last night.  Being such a generous child already, Rebecca figured if he liked that, she would give him more.  It arced out and reached a distance of approximately one foot.  Very impressive.

Today is the day.  We are supposed to be at the hospital at 6:00 am.  The procedure will start at 7:30 and we will have a baby by 7:45.  We were pre-admitted last night and the nurse aneathestist (?) said they will not strap my arms down.  That is nice to know.  It would be just one more step in making me feel helpless and completely out of the process.  The recommended pain management method is...
