I had my first ob appt. today. This is the same dr who delivered Becca. He just changed practices in June. When I am knocked up, I obsessively read the pregnancy bulletin boards. Heck, it starts before I get knocked up, but then I am generally reading the IVF sections. So I do have the prior pregnancy board reading to compare to. We have now been kicked out by our fertility dr. I came home and called our ob for our first appt. I am amazed to report that our first ob appt. is on Friday. I didn’t think it was possible to get a quick turnaround for an appt.

The twins are still going strong. We heard the heartbeats today. It was amazing.
For some odd reason, the past two evenings when I have eaten, I have gotten extremely dizzy. To the point where I almost feel as though I may pass out. Someone was kind enough to point out to me that Ben may be poisoning my food. Very reassuring.
So, we had our first o/b ultrasound today. There are twins in them thar hills! Or wherever it is that they are. They were both measuring at 5 wks 1 day. The dr said that they both look really good. We will go back on the 22nd to verify that they have both developed heartbeats.
I am getting a shot (1 .5” needle) of progesterone in my hip/rear nightly. This will continue until about week 9 or 10. Ben gives me the shot, as I don’t give myself shots. The progesterone is in oil. Therefore, it does not absorb well. Once injected, you feel a nice lump of oil under the skin, down in the muscle. Not terribly comfy. On Friday, the hcg level was 36. Today, Monday, it is 139. That is a doubling rate of 36.9 hours. They like to see it at 48 hours. With Becca, it was running in the 50s, which is still acceptable, if a bit nerve-wracking. We are probably looking at only one, but the possibility is still there for two. We just received the freezing report from our drs office today. There were three left by day five that they felt were of sufficient quality to freeze. We have frozen babies. We will be going again (at some point) and using them. I’m very psycked.
I was doing fine today. Yes, I was spazzing everytime the phone rang, just in case the office wanted to let me know early, but still fine. I felt no need to call them myself. Then Ben called me around 1:45 to ask if I had called yet. I said no. He said why not. I said because you said not to. He said so? I told him to call if he wanted to know. Ben called. We know.
