Becca
The dr’s office called back finally. The dr feels that another
shot would be the best way to go. Becca is not in a friendly mood
to taking medicine. In this case, the dr wants to make sure Becca
gets the full dose. This afternoon, Becca and I will be going
back there for more needle poking and holding down while she
screams. But that should be the end of it.
Becca and the boys have...
Funny
Other person: You painted your kitchen. I thought you weren’t going to paint your kitchen.
Me: I didn’t paint it.
Other person: It looks really different.
Me: I mopped the floor.
Becca
The evening started okay. The dr had drained Becca’s bladder with
the catheter. Becca was in a happy mood once we left and she
wasn’t being held down anymore. We came home. She played
with the boys. You could see her get more and more quiet as her
bladder filled back up.
She started the moments of crying, holding the front of her
diaper. She went to sleep. At 12:30, she was...
dr update
Becca has an ear infection. This would explain the general
crankiness we’ve been having. It also explains why leaving
McDonald’s Playland was something she had to have a hissy over.
Becca also has a UTI (urinary tract infection). The dr had to
catheterize her for a sample. Which meant that I had to hold her
down while she screamed, ‘No Mommy!’ Lovely. The dr...

And to make our past 24 hours even better, we now have Becca walking
around grabbing at the front of her diaper and crying. She says
her privates hurt. I changed her diaper and there is no
rash. I put a thick layer of vaseline on her. Ben came home
for lunch and said that we needed to call the dr because she was still
doing it. We have a 4:45 appt. I think we will take
everyone so that the...
It’s done. I keep thinking about a line from South Central, which is admittedly, not the best movie in the world. It’s something like; If
you steal from a man, you can return the item or offer monetary
compensation. If you hurt a man you can apologize and try to make it
up to him. If you take a man’s life, there is no going back.
Changes
AV is on his way to being no more. Ben is taking him to a 24 hour vet to be euthanized.
Magnus crawled into the kitchen and went straight for AV’s water
bowl. AV bit him. In the face. The skin is not
broken, but he has a raised bruise line from a tooth that stops about 2
millimeters from his eye. He has a lump on his forehead where it
banged the floor.
With the...
Produce
My first office job. The employees there were quite free in their
topics of conversation. I remember one Friday in summer.
Several of them (one male and two or three females) were discussing the
sexual activity that could be engaged in with a cucumber. I
remember one of the woman saying, ‘And afterwards, you slice it up into
your salad and you already have your dressing!’
Gross. ...
Birthday
Becca turns three on Friday. Ben turns 31 32 on Monday. We
(Ben and I) both come from divorced parents. Trying to schedule
birthday celebrations are a bit of a headache. The easiest way
would be for everyone to have their own. Then I don’t have to
worry about people who shouldn’t be in the same location at the same
time being in the same location at the same time. That...

Observations
You can blast rap music from the stereo. You can peel out in the
parking lot. But neither of these changes the fact that you are
in your mom’s minivan at Wal-Mart.
The mohawk looks nice. Very nicely spiked. The knee-length
fur coat is a nice touch for a guy to wear. You obviously looking
around for people’s reactions ruins the statement you are trying to
make.
More mucus
I had a second episode of Magnus wheezing badly in the night. We
did the outside thing and it improved. Today he is not wheezing.
Dougie now has the snot pourage.
I called the dr’s office. I told them that I had given the boys
Pediacare, Infant Tylenol, bulb syringe and humidifier and I still have
two boys sitting on the floor alternately crying and whimpering.
The dr’s office...
My day got better
I left the house around 6-6:30 to go to Target and the grocery
store. I took Becca with me so that it wouldn’t be too much for
Ben seeing as how he is sick. Becca asked for some McDonald’s for
dinner. I told her okay and we went there first.
I made the HUGE mistake of letting her play in the play area.
When it was time to go she gave her biggest conniption fit to
date. We went...
Still don't like titles
Ben was going to be taking a half-day at work today. He and Becca
were going to go to the Magic House this afternoon. Ben is
sick. He didn’t come downstairs until 2pm. Becca and I went
to try to wake him at 11:45 and 12:45. At 3:20 I said I was going
to rest for a half hour. He had the nerve to tell me that it was
his turn for a nap! After having 45 minutes upstairs, during
which time...
I don't like titles
Ben comes home for lunch everyday. This is great for me. I
get a little break in the middle of the day so that I don’t go nuts.
Today Ben had lunch with a friend. No break.
The very odd thing about today is that my kids are being great.
The boys went down for their first nap. They slept for a good
long nap. Becca and I made some snowflakes. I did
dishes. Becca played with bubbles...
ooooooh
We did a new thing in our house today. Mommy and the kids went
out. Without Daddy. By themselves. Left the house and
went somewhere. This is an amazing thing.
The last two times we have all gone out to the mall (Chesterfield Mall)
we have seen triplets each time. Something about the boys being
at the mall apparently means we have to be one-upped. I am just
kidding about that. I mention...
Trash
With the addition of the boys to our household, we have given up on the
diaper pail. Poopy diapers go straight into the trash can in the
garage. Wet diapers go in the trashcan in the kitchen. This trashcan
has a lid. The trash is emptied daily. Wet diapers don’t have the
time required to build up an odor.
I just stuck my hand in the trashcan to drop of a gum wrapper. ...
This would be funny if it wasn't my kid
sniff sniff sniff. What’s that?
What’s what?
I smell poopy!
Are you poopy?
No. I pooty.
This is followed by insane giggling. Also, with prompting
from the unsuspecting parent ‘What do we say when we pooty?’ she provides
the proper response, still laughing. Multiple times a day we have this. Ben and I are massively gullible.
Magic House
Becca, the boys and I went to the Magic House last week with my
mom. Since Becca decided to have a screaming hissy fit when it
was time to go, we determined that she enjoyed herself. My mom
therefore (I do like that word, although I am not sure if it is
correctly spelled) purchased a membership as a birthday gift. In
case you are unaware, admission is $7 per person, starting at age
1. Not the...
oh my
Magnus was sitting up, playing with the boys’ little piano.
Dougie knocked him down flat and crawled completely over him just to
get to a bottle on the other side of Magnus. Amazingly, Magnus
didn’t cry or complain at all. Once Dougie was completely off
him, he just popped back up into a sitting position.
Clearly, the potential is there for things to get ugly here over food.
Dance party revolution
I pulled out some of what I consider ‘Becca-safe’ music the other
day. Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons. I cranked up the
volume and Becca and I danced around. The boys loved it!
I tried The Animals ‘We Gotta Get Out Of This Place’. Nice beat,
but some of the lines, ummm hmmm. ‘See my Daddy in bed, he’s
dying.’ ‘You’ll be dead before...
tidbit
It seems that if Becca and I have been painting at the kitchen table,
and Dougie has a poopy diaper and I take him into the family room to
change it, and Becca yells at me that she is making a huge purple
snowball, I should not assume that she is painting it in the
traditional sense.
I went back into the kitchen to find that she was taking the pots of
paint and pouring them out into her hands,...
Chilly
We’ve been having problems with one of our furnaces lately. Yes,
we have two. One for upstairs, which the sellers had to replace
because it didn’t pass the Laclede Gas Inspection, and one for the main
floor. The one for the main floor is, naturally, the one being
difficult. If the upstairs one went out, I could crank the
downstairs one and let the heat rise. You can’t really...
Baby clothes
I have spent part of today sorting through baby boy clothes. I
have not had to purchase much, thanks to Keisha/Lavonne of the shopping
disorder and another friend. Courtesy of Keisha/Lavonne, I am
almost set for the 2T size. Also, they are all brand name
clothing. Baby Gap figures predominately. As well as Old
Navy, Osh Kosh and Tommy Hilfiger. Since Keisha/Lavonne also
suffers from a...
Maybe an error
I love both of my boys. Both are absolutely sweet and adorable in
their own seperate ways. Dougie is a normal little baby.
Magnus, however, I wonder about. I am curious as to whether there
was a mishap in the lab. Magnus seems to be part animal.
Following are my reasons:
1. Magnus’ bib is near spotless after every meal. This is
because he tips his head back with his mouth wide...
Busy times ahead
Both boys are now mobile. Dougie is content to stay in the family room and play with his toys. Magnus is not.
I went into the bathroom this morning. When I entered, Magnus was
in the middle of the family with toys. When I exited, Magnus was
in the kitchen under Becca’s easel playing with markers.
I left a comment on someone’s blog. Took maybe 3 minutes
tops. I hear...
It's a miracle!
Something wondrous happened today. Perhaps the heavens
aligned. Maybe it’s carbon monoxide poisoning. Either way,
I’m not going to argue the point.
All three of my children took naps at the same time. And not just little naps. Good naps.
Becca was the biggest shocker. She asked to do her schoolbus
puzzle. We started putting it together. She decided halfway
through that she...
huh
Certain people are having a bad effect on me. I got up yesterday,
and felt the need to be productive. I washed three loads of
laundry. I folded 8 laundry baskets worth of clothes. I
even emptied out the laundry baskets which had been sitting in our room
with all the crappy annoying bits of laundry. I sorted out the
boys clothes and made a huge pile of the outgrown stuff, for which I
purchased...
Disgusting, sick perverts
Just the other day I read on the KSDK website (I don’t get the chance
to watch the news, and we don’t get around to reading the paper when we
have a subscription) that a 37 year old Florissant woman has been
charged with having sex with an 11 year old boy. Today I read
that a 43 year old Bel-Ridge man has pled guilty to rape, sodomy,
assualt and child molestation of a 2 year old...
Baby news
Here I am forgetting the most important news of the day. Pam
Webber had her second child this morning. His name is
James. I don’t know the middle name. He was 8 lbs 5 oz and
19 inches. He apparently screamed through delivery (c-section)
and has a lot of hair. Also a nice round head and rosy cherubic
cheeks. Looking forward to pictures, which will hopefully be up
this weekend. ...
More Scrapbooking
In the past three nights, I have done 6 pages in my scrapbook.
Not terriibly fast, but if I keep at that, not too shabby. Of
course, it comes nowhere near catching me up.
While going through some of the other photos last night, I found
pictures I had taken while we lived in Japan. Only 43 of
them. I will go through the two grocery store bags to see if
there are others. I am planning (if the...
Me time
I actually took some time to scrapbook last night. I didn’t get
to sleep until almost 2, but I really liked having the time to
myself. In the over three hours that I worked on my scrapbook, I
only got two pages done. Yes, I am quite slow. And we are
talking about rather plain pages.
The scrapbook is from my trip to Greece with my mom in 1998. We
took about 12 rolls of film. I am...
Nicknames
Seeing as how I will not call Magnus ‘Maggie’ yet I call Douglas
‘Dougie’, I had to come up with a nickname/endearment for Magnus.
I have settled on ‘Mr. Maganuson’. Becca says it as ‘Mr.
Magnus-lotion’. Today she also started calling Dougie ‘Mr.
Dougie’.
Scrapbooking
We spent New Year’s Day with Ben’s family. One of his cousins is
a Creative Memories consultant. I will be going to one of her
crops soon. I came home and browsed the Creative Memories site,
drooling all the while.
I spent yesterday setting up my desk downstairs with my scrapbooking
supplies. I’m quite excited, as I haven’t had the chance to work
on my scrapbooking for...
