Today
Seeing as how the weather was so nice and Ben got home from work at 3:30 today, we played in the backyard this afternoon.
Becca and I played hide and seek. I would count while Becca
hid. After I was done counting, I would start looking around and
doing a running commentary.

Very sweet and yet nasty
Becca got two straws for her strawberry milk this evening. A red
one for her and a blue one for Mommy. She put both of them into
her little 4 oz. cup. I was made to drink from the blue straw
while she drank from the red straw. It was very cute and
sweet. Our cheeks were side-by-side. It would have been a
wonderful photo.
Right before putting the straws into the strawberry milk, she stirred...

Banana Nut Bread
I am thinking it is baking time. Becca loves the opportunity to
cook. Think about it. What could be more perfect or more
messy than handing her a large bowl of bananas and a masher? Of
course, this will mean that she will end up wanting to mash mass
quantities of bananas, which will mean that I will be forced to make
mass quantities of bread.
I am okay with that.
Wedding dress update
Thanks to the recommendation from Sarah, we went out to An Elegant
Event this evening. We have found ‘the dress’. Of course,
the bride is not fully ready to commit to ‘the dress’ just yet.
She still has the image of a dress she found online in her head.

It is amazing the impression you can have of people without meeting them.
Add together crying phone calls at 2 in the morning, before you know

Asparagus
I ate an entire pound of asparagus tonight. This is not something
I would recommend. Besides the whole issues of having to hold my
breath every time I tinkle tomorrow, my stomach is very unhappy with me.

I have started removing the old family photos from the nasty
albums. It is rather slow going, as these are 35 year old photos
that have been in the sticky albums for at least 30 years. There
are also some papers stuck on the pages (birth announcement type

Kid update
Douglas now stand on his own for periods of time. He stands up
and bounces. He could probably walk now on his own if he
wanted. It’s pretty cool to watch him stand in one spot, holding
onto nothing and dance. He bends his knees and stands back up
straight over and over without falling down.

I had previously asked Ben to take a half day from work yesterday,
because of the ‘fantastic’ snow. Becca likes to have company to
play in the snow, and it wouldn’t work too well right now with the
boys. Ben came home, he and Becca shoveled out her name in the
back yard. They made a small frosty. Since watching ‘Frosty
the Snowman’, every single snowman is Frosty....

I have kids with a great deal of energy today. I have already

Cookie update
We received our Girl Scout cookies on Tuesday. I have already
realized that I drastically under-ordered. We have gone through 3
of our 6 boxes of Lemon Coolers.
Never fear. I have placed an emergency order for an entire case of those luscious little happy bites.
Wrong choice of words
It really bothers me when news articles and journalists insist on
referring to embryo TRANSFER as IMPLANTATION. Trust me, if the Dr
implanted the embryo, there would be a 100% success rate. The
embryo is merely TRANSFERRED into the uterus. IMPLANTATION is
something determined by factors out of our control.
If you know anyone in this type of business, please correct them.
Clean
My carpets are clean. While clearing the living and dining rooms
to get ready for the carpet cleaning guys, I made the wonderful
discovery that the nasty kitties have been tinkling in the
corners. I have now had the joy of the extra charge of
sanitizing/deodorizing of said carpet. Also, I was given a, what
to me is, reasonable qoute on having our area rug from the family room

Weekend recap
I don’t really recall what we did Saturday during the day.
Saturday evening I went out scrapbooking. I went crazy with the

I have now had a shower. I have shaved my legs. I need to

I can’t sit down without Becca coming up and shoving against me and
insisting that she is going to sit in my lap. While she is
wearing nothing but a diaper and a necklace, because she keeps removing

Want an image of how my life has been the past few days? How
about, my right eye has developed a nice muscle spasm/tic thing that
has been going off and on since Sunday afternoon.
Butterfly
I am just turning into a social butterfly. I have historically
not been a good social person. I have also historically not been
a nice person. Motherhood seems to have overly mellowed me.

Yes, my child watches tv. After a long loyalty to Wiggles and
Sesame Street, she is branching out. The Little Einsteins had a
brief moment in the sun. They were quickly (a week and a half)
supplanted by LazyTown. Which is still holding, just not in the
number one spot.

Did you know that you can exchange a Yankee Candle candle after you have burned it? Neither did I.
I went to the store over President’s Day weekend. They were

I have painted the living room. The color, which was supposed to
be a blue/gray with a touch of green, now appears to be a nice powder
blue. Add that to the white trim which was already present, and

Hobby Lobby
Hobby Lobby has the Xyron create-a-sticker on sale this week.
It’s a good sale, but not stampede-worthy. It’s normally 9.99 or
10.99 on sale for 5.99. Hobby Lobby is closed on Sundays.

evening and they were sold out. I was told they would be

Life lessons
Given the beautiful weather today, the kids have been outside
playing. Becca’s cousin Josh came over today, so all four kids

Goodbye ketchup
The ketchup living room has been fully primered over. It took me
until about 12:30, but I didn’t really get started until 10pm. I
did do a bit of cutting-in earlier in the day.
