Sock love
Ben and I counted up the pairs of socks I have knit so far.
He does not count the pedicure socks that were a Christmas
gift. Without those, my tally is 9 pairs. I also have four
singles waiting for mates.
Really, this should make me an expert, right?
First up for your viewing pleasure this evening.

My behind is dragging hard. The boys slept for about 10-15
minutes themselves in the car on the way back. Once I moved them
into the house and into their beds, they were bright-eyed and
bushy-tailed. Becca still hasn’t crashed. It’s almost
3. When Ben gets home I will be fully crabby. He will be
fully crabby. And the kids will probably refuse to go to bed.
As long as Becca is...
Germ update
Becca is the proud owner of two solid ear infections. And other
than a 10-15 minutes nap in the car, she still hasn’t slept.
Frankly, I’m impressed.
Germs
The kids have had colds since last Saturday. Mine started very lightly with just a touch of congestion Thursday night. Friday afternoon, it had moved to a touch of a runny nose. Friday night it slammed me. At least it hit me bad on the weekend when Ben was home to help. I napped Saturday and Sunday while the boys took their naps. It’s better today so far. My head is no longer stuffed...
Water is a cure-all
One night last week I ehad a sore, tickly throat. I am not a
water drinker but I started downing it like crazy. By the time I
went to bed, everything was back to normal.
So today I have the start of a cold. I have big social plans
tomorrow and would like to keep them without germing others up. I
am downing the water again.
So far I have gone through 2.25 liters. I am rushing to the
bathroom...
Should I be nervous?
I’m a posting fool today.
Check out this email I just received from my loving husband. Had it ever occurred to you that "cleave" is a contronym? We vowed to cleave to one another but I don't believe the vow specified which type of cleaving, the "adhering to one another" kind or the "seperating, as in a butcher cleaving meat". Loophole?
Dougie at naptime
Dougie has taken the babydoll and centered her head on the
pillow. He has tucked his blanket carefully around her. To
the tune of Brahm’s Lullaby, he sings, ‘Go to leet, da. Go to
leet, da.’ Then he gives the babydoll a kiss.
It’s all very cute, but of course he isn’t going to sleep during this.
Any advice?
We have a biter in the house. Both boys started biting about 8-10
months ago. I am not a fan of corporal punishment. We
started off dealing with it by immediately setting them down, saying
sternly, ‘No biting!’. Magnus stopped.
Dougie, however, feels that he has found his niche. He has tried
to bite Becca. He has bit me and Ben. Mostly, he zones in
on Magnus. Anytime the boys...
a thought
I went and set myself up with an Amazon wish list tonight. My
birthday is coming up and it will be easier for Ben to just direct
people there. I am not hinting for anyone to visit my
wishlist. I am just setting up for the next part.
While there, I started looking for wishlists for people that I
know. I found some. Some I am unsure of. Some don’t
exist. Most don’t have shipping...
Minutiae and random thoughts
My coffee maker decided that it is taking a holiday. I have been temporarily reduced to making coffee in a pot on the stove.
I am really glad that I didn’t spend a lot of money on a table and
chairs for the kitchen. The kids are beating the crap out of
them.
A spray bottle filled with water and vinegar is one of my best
friends. Spray chair (kitchen) liberally and let sit for...
