Day 2 of housewifeyness was productive.  Day 3 was not.  I don’t understand how people can choose to not work when there isn’t a baby or something needing care.  Boring.

Fisher-Price has this cool baby swing that runs, as all swings do, for a set period of time.  The idea being that the baby falls asleep, which most of them do.  Then, if the baby wakes and starts to fuss, the swings ‘hears’ the fussing baby and starts up again.  So if you are downstairs doing the laundry for example, your baby will be soothed and happy.

We received a similar swing as a shower gift.  At the time of purchase, the Smart Response swing was not in stock.  We therefore have the Quick Response swing by Fisher-Price, which does not automatically start back up.  It does have a remote control for you to start it back up before you can reach the swing.  I have a nasty tendency of losing remotes.  Much as I appreciate the gift, and understand the Smart Response swing being out of stock, I would like to exchange what I have for the Smart Response.

I have informed Ben of this.  Ben did not want to handle this errand this weekend, as he was sick.  Fair enough.  I informed him that we would be exchanging the swing today.  He feels that I should have handled this myself.  The swing we have is in a box that measures 25x17x10.  The baby belly gets in the way when I try to pick items of this size up.  I pointed this out to him.  His response?  Couldn’t you just get it in the car and have someone from the store get it out?  Mind you, he felt well enough yesterday to play two games of hockey last night.  Sometimes I think that he truly has no concept of what I go through.  Nor makes an effort to understand.
