Plants again! For Christmas this year, I am giving as many co-workers as I can handle their own spider plant in a pot painted by moi. As many as I can handle means as many pots as I can purchase (you would be amazed at how quickly Lowe’s and Home Depot clear them out) and as many spider plant runners I can beg off of Melf.

So there I was, at Lowe’s, trying to purchase potting soil for these. Potting soil is used for indoor plants. Therefore, it can be assumed that potting soil would be needed year-round for those of us who are unorganized. Lowe’s doesn’t have any. They don’t have any root hormone either. What they do have is an awesome looking plant called purple passion. The leaves are velvety purple. And I mean bright purple. I need one.

A few weeks ago I mentioned that a lavender or rosemary topiary would be cool. Or at least I verbalized this to others. I purchased some rosemary and a topiary frame. Unfortunately, AV’s tail moves independently of his body. Thus, my topiary form has been knocked out of the pot repeatedly, and the rosemary is taking quite a beating. Lowe’s happens to have some cone shaped rosemary topiaries for 9.96. I have informed Ben that I require these two plants. Hopefully, someone will get them for me before they are all gone.

I know have 9 planted spider plant runners. I have another 7 or 8 pots drying, waiting to be planted. I have emailed Melf begging runners. I think I have a total of 35 pots right now. Luckily for me, Melf’s plant is putting out runners like crazy. Now that I have rooting hormone, maybe he or Leesa will want a night blooming cereus of their own. That is the correct spelling according to my web search. Just a small way to repay the theft.
