I have been baking bread some lately.  By hand.  No bread machine being used at all.  Kneading is fun.  I’m not quite sure if I’m doing it properly or not, but the bread tastes pretty good, so oh well. 

I have tried bread from scratch in the past.  My yeast has always failed me.  When the recipe says ‘proof the yeast’ I haven’t a clue.  This time around, I have using the recipes from Father Dominic, off of PBS.  His website is http://breaking-bread.com/home.php .  I have made the Raspberry-Streusel Coffeecake, The Honey-Oatmeal Bread and the Cinnamon Swirl.  I have also purchased myself one of his cookbooks. 

This is fun.  I think you should all try it.
