We used an accountant for our taxes for several years.  We had asked said accountants office if IVF costs could be deducted under medical expenses on taxes.  We were told no, because it is elective, but we could deduct the medication. 

So lately on the bulletin boards I’ve been seeing women talking about the nice tax returns they get because of deducting IVF costs.  I go to the IRS website.  It specifically says that IVF is deductible. 

This makes me rather pissy at the accountant.  Not to mention, every year they did our taxes, we owed.  Every year I have done our taxes, we get a fat return.  Interesting.

Now I’m just not sure how far back you can refile.  You can be sure I will be checking that tomorrow.  I have over $23,000 that I can add into there.  Just not sure how much difference in return that would make, since that is over three years.
