Of the four blood draws that were done with the 3 hour GTT, I was over the limit on two of them. Due to the fact that your blood sugars run higher the further you get into the pregnancy, and with two babies, I being put on the diabetic diet. I suppose this means that I am being considered to have gestational diabetes. At least this dr, unlike his brother, is not making me redo the 3 hour. Last time the results of the first 3 hour were bordreline as well. By the time I did the second one, they were all over.
Unlike last time, I am not seeing the office person who serves as a dietician. That person showed me how to use the glucometer and gave me a sample menu and that was essentially it. This time I am being scheduled into a class at the St. John’s Perinatal Center. I should hear later today when that will be.
This of course means that I will be turning into a carb counter. I despise these diets with the carb emphasis. This also means that I will be hating myself, as I will have no choice but to obsess over carbs. Lucky me.
