We finally received the home inspection and the list of what the buyer wants us to handle. I’m thinking we will go ahead and do it all, except one item, for which we will credit the buyer $100. Some of these things are just silly. We are supposed to repair or replace the non-working smoke detector in the hallway. How about we just replace the worn-out battery? We are supposed to repair the non-working shower valve in the master bath. Very interesting, seeing as how we shower in there every day and have not had problems with it not working.
There is some electrical work, but that is where it is good to have friends in the right places. Such as union electricians.
All in all, it was much better than we were expecting. Ben and I were having visions of stuff that would run more than $5k. It will be under $200. Not bad.
UPDATE: I just got off the phone with the home inspector, trying to find out what was wrong with the shower valve. Apparently, they couldn’t turn the shower on. Not sure why they had a problem. It isn’t as though I am the Incredible Hulk that I can turn it on. Oh well, that’s one item checked off.
